Bougie Aesthetics® offers a powerful medical-grade, an anti-aging treatment known as microneedling. This is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device called the SkinPen™ containing very fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin.

MICRONEEDLING FAQS

  • We use a tool called the SkinPen®, the only FDA-cleared microneedling device on the market. Its needles create tiny holes in the top layers of skin to stimulate your body to produce collagen and elastin leaving your skin bright and full. Microneedling also decreases the appearance of fine wrinkles, scars, and pores.

  • The needles on the SkinPen® leave tiny pokes in your skin at very specific depths which causes your skin to kick into healing mode. Your skin then repairs itself by increasing collagen and elastin to heal these microscopic holes left on the face. Scientific studies have shown us that our skin gradually loses its collagen and elastin, causing the characteristic signs of aging in the face. Therefore, encouraging your skin to produce these materials will cause your skin to gain strength and look younger and healthier.

  • We pride ourselves with providing quality treatments to patients with minimal discomfort and as little downtime as necessary. To achieve this, we carefully numb the face prior to the procedure so that there is minimal pain with the microneedling.

  • Your body starts recovering from the treatment immediately after your appointment. Treated areas will appear red for a few days after the procedure but this will go away naturally and quickly. To avoid pigment changes or scarring after the procedure, it is best to follow the post-treatment instructions that we’ve developed in order to ensure you have the best response possible.
